About Sharone

Sharone Chusid is a licensed speech-language pathologist and reading teacher based in Long Beach, NY. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a licensed Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Sharone received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from CUNY Brooklyn College. Sharone also has a Master of Arts degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Tel Aviv University. Additionally, Sharone holds her Bilingual Extension Certification (BEA) and is qualified to assess and treat children of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Moreover, she is certified to provide speech and language therapy in both English and Hebrew.

Sharone’s past experiences include working with toddlers, school aged, and adolescent children in preschool/school and clinical settings with a wide variety of speech and language delays and disorders. She currently works at a private school for students with language-based learning disabilities in Manhattan. After school hours, Sharone provides in-home or remote private speech and language therapy as well as multisensory literacy intervention. Sharone is trained in Preventing Academic Failure (PAF), which is a multisensory, Orton-Gillingham based reading intervention program that integrates reading, writing, and spelling.

Sharone believes in a collaborative approach to therapy. She regularly communicates with parents, teachers, and colleagues in order to tailor treatment to every child and ensure generalization and carryover of skills.
